We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven professional to join our team as a Service Sales Manager. This field-based sales role is responsible for developing and expanding Lifecycle Services (LCS) opportunities within an assigned territory by building relationships with existing customers and identifying opportunities for spare parts, field service, training, audits, retrofits, upgrades, and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Development:
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing customers throughout an assigned territory.
  • Conduct regular site visits to strengthen customer relationships and maintain visibility within customer operations.
  • Build relationships with maintenance, engineering, operations, purchasing, and leadership personnel to better understand customer objectives and challenges.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary field-based Lifecycle Services contact for customers.
  • Develop territory plans and account strategies to drive Lifecycle Services growth.
Opportunity Identification & Lead Generation:
  • Identify and qualify opportunities for spare parts, field service, preventive maintenance, training, audits, retrofits, upgrades, and modernization projects.
  • Conduct equipment walk-throughs, operational reviews, and customer discussions to uncover service and improvement opportunities.
  • Gather technical and commercial information necessary for internal teams to prepare quotations and proposals.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities and ensure timely handoff to the Lifecycle Services team.
  • Partner with internal specialists to develop customer-specific solutions and support proposal presentations when required.
Sales Growth & Territory Performance:
  • Drive Lifecycle Services revenue growth within the assigned territory.
  • Track customer activity, opportunities, and account development efforts through Microsoft Dynamics CRM/funnel management system.
  • Support strategic account planning and execution for key customers.
  • Collaborate closely with inside sales, service, engineering, and project management teams to maximize customer value.
  • Achieve territory objectives related to lead generation, opportunity development, and revenue growth.
Technical Proficiency & Industry Knowledge:
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of packaging machinery, automation systems, and food and beverage manufacturing operations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and emerging technologies.
  • Understand equipment lifecycle challenges and identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, safety, and obsolescence management.
  • Communicate customer needs effectively to internal technical teams and help align solutions with customer objectives.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge to better support customer conversations and opportunity development.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in field service, service sales, field sales, or related customer-facing roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and develop business opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Technical curiosity and interest in packaging machinery, manufacturing, automation, and food and beverage production.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Experience selling industrial services, aftermarket support, maintenance programs, or capital equipment.
  • Prior experience in packaging, automation, food processing, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of packaging machinery and current market offerings.
  • Experience working with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong consultative selling and opportunity qualification skills.

Work Environment

  • Approximately travel 50-75% of the time within the assigned territory.
